On the 14th of Feb, 2017, the IEVRA (India Electric Vehicle Race Association) along with Rexnamo Electro Private Limited launched the nation’s first Electric Highway – a network of fast chargers spanning the national capital region in the north to Himalayas (Uttarakhand). The Electric Highway consists of a total of 12 fast chargers, allowing a 30 minute recharge to about 80% capacity for most EVs.
This project was conceived by members of the Delhi NCR (Ghaziabad) branch of the IEVRA and Rexnamo, and was taken up by the Rexnamo in June last year.
The chargers consist of a 43 kW Fast AC option (Type-Two, or Mennekes connector, suits Rexnamo Super Cruiser Bike) and two 50 kW Fast DC options – SAE Combo for the BMW i3 and ChaDeMo for Japanese makes of car. A slow charger is also located at each station, able to deliver up to 7 kW. A humble 15 amp GPO is also available.
According to a research from the University of Michigan, it takes a rider 1.5 seconds to read instruments or glance in the mirror. During 1.5 seconds, at a speed of 90 km/h (56 mph), the vehicle travels 37.5 meters (41 yards). It is a time during which anything can happen on the road. We strive to offer solutions whereby the riders’ attention does not need to be distracted each time they look for the required information. Using state-of-the-art technology we have created the Rexnamo module offering a whole new riding experience. Implementing some of the most advanced solutions based on Augmented Reality technology, the Rexnamo module provides the rider with the necessary road information and motorcycle parameters. Information is displayed in front of the [...]
We at Rexnamo aim to only use Lithium batteries and the fastest charging times practically possible. There are readymade japanese and american high power chargers; but they are too expensive and too heavy. So like all other electronic components, we started design and development of the high speed charger in Jan 2012. Now we have made over 5 iterations. Each one better, faster and smaller than before.
By 2015, we now have a charger which is quite possibly one of the world’s most premium electric vehicle charger that can charger a Rexnamo vehicle in to 80% capacity from empty in less than an hour. Pretty amazing. What do you say?
What this means to you?
It doesnt matter how long trip you want to take. Rexnamo vehicles will never let you down.
On April 8th, 2015 the Government of India announced FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric (Hybrid) Vehicles in India – a scheme under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
Check out the infographic below to understand the impact and benefits of FAME India for manufacturers and buyers.
Having heard so much good about petrol cars, we decided to test drive one. They are said to combine cheap price with long range and fast charging. A winning formula on paper – but how are they in real life?
We sat us in the loaner car at the car salesman’s office. Automakers do not sell the cars themselves, only through independent car repair shops as middlemen. It may sound like a bad omen to buy the car from a car repair shop that you want to visit as seldom as possible. But you apparently can’t buy the car directly from the manufacturer but must go through such intermediaries. The seller was very ”pushy” and tried to convince us to buy the car very forcibly, but the experience is perhaps better elsewhere.
So we sat in the car and pressed the START button. The car’s gasoline engine coughed to life and started to operate. One [...]
Rexnamo Electro, the electric mobility company of India, has unveiled the Rexnamo SuperCruiser, a two-seater electric super bike concept.
The concept will see the light of production in a improved avatar. It’s stylish, old school and the designers from USA, who are a part of Rexnamo’s in-house design team, have done an exceptional job to make it look radical and give it that vintage cruiser feel.

The SuperCruiser will be powered by an electric motor developing approximately 46bhp. The high capacity battery which basically runs the show can power the SuperCruiser from 0-100km/h in less than 5 seconds while the top-speed is claimed to be in excess of 165km/h.
The SuperCruiser will go up on sale in 2015 and will be sold both in India and in international markets.
